Meet the Governors
Debbie Davies
I read psychology at university, specialising in developmental psychology. I then undertook teacher training and came to Hailey School as a student teacher. I enjoyed the experience so much that I knew I wanted to return. I’ve worked in schools for over twenty years in a mixture of village, town, community and Church schools. It is a pleasure and a privilege to now be Head Teacher at Hailey School and my intention is that we achieve the best outcomes for pupils, staff, parents and community.

Originally brought up in Hertfordshire, I started working for Marconi and Bookham Technology in various roles, from Quality Assurance to Product Development, which allowed me to follow my passion for cutting edge engineering. I moved to Oxfordshire in 2002, and moved to Witney with my wife, where we have lived for the last 12 years. I am currently Operations Manager for a large Utility company. My eldest child enjoys attending Hailey Primary School.

I have been a primary school teacher for 8 years and am currently working as a SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) at a school in Witney. I have spent most of my teaching career in Key Stage 1 and have always had a keen interest in inclusion. My daughter has recently started at Hailey Primary School and I look forward to working with the staff, governors and families in my role as parent governor.

Donna Roberts
I have a wide and varied experience of primary education, spanning more than 30 years. My various roles have included- teaching assistant, teacher, deputy head teacher, headteacher, parent and now grandparent; my eldest granddaughter is a pupil at Hailey School.
I am now semi-retired, but take on short- term leadership posts in schools that need some additional support.
Having some free time at last, I am very pleased to be able to work with Debbie and the Hailey team and look forward to being part of the school's continued success.
Chris Dingwall-Jones
I grew up in Leicestershire, before moving to Oxford to study English. Before I became a Church of England Priest, I lectured in Theatre at the University of Kent. I have been governor of a Church of England School in inner city London, led collective worship in a number of community schools in Lancashire, and been part of the REinspired Religious Education programme in Oxford. Before coming to Witney as Team Vicar I served as a curate in Fleetwood, Lancashire, and as Chaplain of Jesus College, Oxford. I often lead Collective Worship at Hailey on a Wednesday Morning.
