Welcome from the HeadTeacher: Debbie Davies
Welcome to the Hailey School website. We are a small Church of England controlled primary school, with four classes, currently totalling 105 children, including our new nursery class for three-and four-year-olds. We have created a family atmosphere, which is upheld by a dedicated staff team who put the interests of the individual child at the centre of everything they do. We aspire to provide the best starting block for children in our community through the pursuit of excellence – in the provision for the children in our care, and also in our role in, and responsibilities to, our local community.
This was recognised during our recent Ofsted Inspection which judged our school to be good and highlighted the many strengths including consistently strong performance in maths and literacy, which prepares pupils well for their next stage of education, ambitious leadership, excellent pupil behaviour underpinned by respectful relationships throughout the school and effective safeguarding.
At Hailey School we instil strong moral values in our children, helping them develop confidence and independence as well as becoming kind and respectful individuals. This is balanced with a requirement for consistently high teaching standards and excellent academic progress for every child.
Our Church of England Inspection, which judged our school to be outstanding, commended Hailey School for its vision and drive and for the cultural development of its pupils as well as the strong, supportive and caring relationships between all members of the school community, based on the school’s values of love and tolerance.
We believe it is very important to provide a learning environment where all children can thrive, and where children are inspired to do their best. Our school vision and values set out how we aim to achieve this. Each year we review our priorities for the school and develop a school ‘raising achievement plan’ which sets out specific objectives. The summary of our current priorities is here.
Prospective parents and children are warmly invited to visit us. Visits include a tour of the site and a chance to meet staff. Should you decide to send your child to Hailey School you can be assured that he or she will be accepted into a caring, thriving community, where we all work together to ensure that children achieve their full potential. This is reflected in our mission statement: ‘Together Everyone Achieves More’. I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
