Welcome

Hailey CE Primary School is  a friendly village school with approximately 80 children in its infant, lower junior and upper junior classes. It also runs a Foundation Stage unit for up to 15 pupils in collaboration with the local Pre-school. The lower and upper junior classrooms are in the original Victorian school building. The infant and Foundation classrooms are in a purpose made building completed in November 2006. The school is managed by an active and experienced governing body made up of governors elected by the parents; nominees from the local authority, the church and the Parish Council; and teacher and staff representatives.

The school combines many of the virtues of a small, supportive and active community. It is a Church of England VC School and is committed to providing the best possible education for all its children, within the context of belief and ethos.

Its forward-looking staff and governing body are keen to ensure that the school keeps abreast of new educational policies, is up to date with its technologies and teaching practices, and is able to offer an inclusive forward-looking education for the children.

Spring Fayre – Sunday 27th May 12-4pm

With free entry & plenty of parking, come along for a whole afternoon’s entertainment for all the family on Sunday 27th May!

Our bigger than ever Fayre includes a large quality Craft and Gift Market, Classic Car Show and Funfair Rides, as well as many traditional fete favourites. There is much to appeal to everyone, whatever your age & interest!

Plenty of children’s activities include games, funfair rides and craft activities, including willow working & face painting, lucky dip, tombola and “Beat the Goalie”! There is also a Fire Engine and Police Mobile Response Unit for visitors to see and talk to our emergency services about their vital work.

Enjoy live music whilst meeting baby farm animals, viewing the amazing collection of classic cars and scooters we are delighted to be hosting that day, & sampling some of the beer from our bar and vintage beer wagon, kindly donated by Wychwood Brewery. For the more active, perhaps have a go at traditional country games such as tug-of-war, Maypole dancing and even “welly wanging”! For those who prefer a rather more genteel atmosphere, there is our vintage tea room, complete with vintage crockery and teatime music, to enjoy a cup of tea and cake whilst viewing the entries in our children’s art competitions.

This year, our Fayre incorporates an even bigger and better Craft and Gift Market! With over 30 stalls showcasing the best local crafts, retailers and products, this is an event in itself worth coming to! Come and treat yourself or friends to beautiful jewellery, needlework and sewn gifts, art, books, cards, wood gifts, pet accessories, natural health products among many others. For those who enjoy delicious food treats, there are also stalls where you can sample & buy delicious local preserves, mustards, dips and dressings, organic fruit, vegetables and more!

For those making a day of it with us, come and enjoy lunch in our dedicated food court area – including freshly made wood fired pizza from Rico’s Pizza Shack & Daisy’s Vintage Ice Cream van, selling strawberries & cream and Cotswold Ice Cream. Don’t forget our bar too, with delicious local beers, soft drinks & wine to accompany your meal.

Our Fayre is a charitable event; funds raised will be used to support activities for the children through our registered charity Friends of Hailey School.
