Hailey School’s Governing Body has 2 main sub-committees which are responsible for different areas of governing body work:
1) Finance, Resources and People (FRP)
This sub committee has oversight of school financial and staff performance, ensuring the sound, proper and effective use of resources (money, people & premises) to get the best educational outcomes for children.
2) Curriculum, Performance and Achievement (CPA)
This sub-committee is responsible for monitoring the progress, achievement and behaviour of all groups of pupils in the school to ensure it is in line with the school’s priorities, vision and values, ensuring that the Head Teacher meets her responsibilities for the school’s educational and pastoral performance. It also oversees collective worship and monitors progress against the social, moral, spiritual and cultural aspects of the school and SIAMS requirements.
In addition there are specific committees for Pay, Head Teacher Appraisal, a project group for Ofsted Preparation and the School Equality Action Team which oversees statutory and aspirational targets within the school’s equality duty.
Hailey School also appoints governors to lead governor roles which means they take on a specific area of governing body business,which ideally should match their skills and experience. We currently have the following lead governor roles:

SEND & Equality
Health & Safety and Food& Wellbeing
Sports & Pupil Premium
Quality of Teaching
In addition we appoint leads to each of our School Plan objectives, so that they have specific oversight of that priority area. We call it our Raising Achievement Plan ( RAP).
We also have link governors for each of the classes, to establish closer links with the teaching and support staff and ensure a link with the day to day classroom experience.
